Hot Air

Friday night fun . . .

On Saturday we had a very busy, great day. We got up and moving in the morning and started at the Columbia Farmer's Market. We hadn't been in a couple of years, and it was much bigger than we remembered. It was a nice morning and we enjoyed looking around. There were vendors there from as far away as Smithon and Gravois Mills (selling trout).

After that we ran a few errands and headed to the mall to pick up a few things. We returned home for a couple of hours to feed Carly and put her down for a nap with dad. When they woke up we decided to check out the Balloon Invitational.

We weren't sure what to expect. We got to see the Pepsi can balloon and go inside for some pictures.

Jon improvised and came up with a new place to change Carly's diaper . . .

At dark the ballons were up in the air and glowing.

Jon even found a monkey balloon . . .

We had another great weekend! Hope everyone else was able to enjoy the nice weather!!

Another Fun Weekend

This picture was taken Sunday evening after we returned home from our weekend. As you can tell, Carly was worn out and ready to enjoy some time with her daddy. Jon and I went camping this weekend. We headed to FG on Friday afternoon to pick up the camper and drop Carly off at my parent's house. Grandpa and Grandma Willis kept Carly Friday and Saturday night, her first overnight trip away from Mom and Dad since she came home. She did great and didn't even notice we were gone. Grandpa and Grandma brought her to the lake Saturday evening and we all had dinner together. She got to swing at the park, but I didn't have my camera. She was holding on so tight her little knuckles were white. She loved it! Over the weekend she also expanded her vocabulary from chattering squeals and shrills to one syllable babbling. Of course, her favorite seems to be "da da" and Jon is quite proud!!!

State Fair

The weather was beautiful, the fair was in full swing, and Jon and I got to see Josh Turner in concert on Saturday night! What a great weekend! It really was a great day to be at the fair. We walked around for a few hours and, of course, had some food "on a stick" in the spirit of the fair. The concert was what made it all worth it though. Josh Turner took the stage and he was awesome in person. He's one of the few artists that I can say sounds just as good, if not better, in person than he does on the radio. He put on a great show and Jon and I had a wonderful time.

On Sunday we went to church with my grandma and my parents and visited some family. Everyone seemed to be doing well. Carly enjoyed herself and refused to take a nap in the afternoon. She didn't want to miss anything. She had her first taste of green beans and liked them just as much as the peas. Grandpa Carl seemed to think they looked nasty, he wouldn't even take a sniff. Grandma Karen dressed her up in glasses (again) and tempted her with the m&m jar. Cory engaged her in her first game of football and you can see her natural athletic ability.

The Girls

After a hot start, the week had a beautiful finish. Carly and I took advantage of the nice weather and joined Meera and Sejal at the park. Meera and I walked with the girls a couple of times this week. The park was a nice change of pace and the conversation was, thankfully, more than baby talk for me. Meera and I always have plenty to talk about. I was able to take a couple of pictures to share.

A Hot Weekend

Aren't weekends the best?! Even if they are hot and steamy they are greatly anticipated at our house. This weekend was pretty laid back for us. We spent it at home - just a little grocery shopping and a trip to Sam's.

Today was so hot, we decided to let Carly spend a little while pool side. I am so glad she seems to really enjoy the water!
